How to Offer Equipment Financing

It's Easy to Offer Equipment Financing

  • We've made it very easy for you to offer equipment financing to your buyers. You simply take the HTML sniplets (cut-and-paste HTML code) we've provided below and insert them into your eBay item description, payment instructions, and buyer e-mails.
  • The entire process takes less than a minute.
  • When buyers click on the financing links generated by your HTML sniplets, they are taken to a page with more information about the equipment financing program. From there, they can link to the Direct Capital site to apply for financing. Direct Capital handles the financing transaction.
  • Once a buyer is pre-approved to finance an item you have listed, you will need to complete a brief enrollment form. We recommend that you complete the enrollment form in advance to ensure that the transaction proceeds more quickly.
  • Here's the best part: You are reimbursed for final value fees on all items financed through our program! Learn more about how your final value fees are reimbursed.
(Note: Financing is not available in Puerto Rico.)

Inserting Your HTML Sniplets

1. Choose one of the sniplet options below. There are three options to choose from depending on where you plan to place the sniplet:

B. Text-Only HTML Link Use in HTML-enabled email systems
C. Text-Only Link Use in text-only email systems
D. Text for Payment Instructions Use in payment instructions

2. Copy and paste the corresponding HTML code or plain text into your item description and buyer emails and if applicable, your AboutMe and Checkout pages.

The "Graphic with Text HTML Link" option will be the most effective in your item descriptions.

Promote the links as prominently as possible
Whenever possible, promote the financing offering as up front and as high up as possible in your item descriptions and emails.

Promote the financing offer to your buyers at several touch points
Promote the financing option to your buyers in as many touch points as possible including:

  • Item descriptions
  • Pre-sale emails (email responses to your buyers when they have questions)
  • Post-sale emails (End of Auction, Shipping Confirmation, stand alone financing promotion emails)
  • Checkout pages
  • AboutMe page
